4 October 1998, 6:17 p.m. Hi, Gene Revelas in Tacoma, 253.756.7834.
Birded the Kent Valley for a couple hours this afternoon. At the Kent
Ponds, a single SANDHILL CRANE on the left shore of the left pond as you
look at the ponds from the back fence looking North. Also there was a
pretty good size flock, thirty birds, of GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE. At
the Clay Street Marsh, there was one PECTORAL SANDPIPER, probably about 30
SNIPE. That's it - good luck and good birding.

3 October 1998, 9:44 p.m. Hi, this is Scott Downes, 361-7073. This
morning at 10:45 a.m. at the Tokeland Jetty was able to find one
BAR-TAILED GODWIT, and about 14 WILLETS. At Ocean Shores this afternoon
at the Damon Point pond, 7 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS. Off of Tonkin Avenue at
the Game Range, 35-40 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, and 12 PACIFIC GOLDEN PLOVERS.

3 October, 1998, 6:59 a.m. This is Bob Morse, in Olympia. Kathleen
Wildemuth [sp? - ch] at Ocean Shores observed two ROCK SANPIPERS at the
base of the Ocean Shores Jetty at 6:45.

Thursday, 10/1/98, 10:04 p.m. Hi, Tom Aversa, 206.782.7342, reporting
from Mt. Ranier today. A hike from Sunrise to Burroughs Mt. produced the
following raptors: 2 GOSHAWKS, 4 COOPERS' HAWKS, 7 SHARP-SHINS and 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS. Also 2 PRARIE FALCONS. Also had about 500
GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES up near Frozen Lake, on the hike back. Those
were the highlights.
