Cool rainy weekday mornings are a good time to look at gulls on the beach
at Golden Gardens, if you can swing it. There was a flock of ~200 on the
south edge of the beach at the creek, right next to the parking lot.
Mostly California Gulls and GW Gulls, but the flock included:
Heerman's 18
Mew 12
Bonaparte's 3
Western 2 adult, ~6 Juv *
Canada Geese
Am Wigeons 6 - 24 more at the far end of the beach
Pigeons, Crows

* I'm not too sure of my dark mantled pink footed black primaried gulls.

Also off Meadow Point was a single Horned Grebe and about 12 Western
Grebes, there was a large flotilla in the distance, too far away to ID.
Two Kildeer in the dunes. (One day there were 8 Kildeer on the lawn, in
the pouring rain.)

The area around the new ponds are "crawling" with Geese and Mallards,
almost 100 Mallards call it home after one(?) year. Too many people and
too much bread with no predators.
