Took a last minute trip to Cannon Beach Saturday and Sunday, mostly spent
watching my children build sand castles. Surprised by total lack of
shorebirds. Numerous pelicans, a flyover by one Kingfisher (male), one pair
of Heerman's Gulls, and one Turkey Vulture on 26 back to Portland, but
nothing else worthy of note. Weather Saturday was mostly sunny, with a strong
southerly breeze, which may be why didn't see anything migrating south.
However Sunday was sunny, warm, no wind at all, and still nothing until we
left in early afternoon.

Now, how do I get sand out of the focus ring on the bins?!
