Hmm-mmmmm....a while back there was a post about an aggressive
smallish (male?) redtail that flew into a dining area by the
Burke Museum and grabbed a pigeon. Since there were other
posts recently about returning peregrines (Vancouver, BC..
Maureen's post about "Freeway" and another peregrine in the
area) perhaps what we have here is a falcon appearing in
an area where a redtail has been hunting successfully and
doesn't like the competition...

there may be another part to this story you (we) missed..
il's possible the redtail ripped off the peregrine earlier
and it's not pleased...although, it's dangerous business
for a 'grine to underestimate a redtail..especially one
that takes pigeons..
