The morning started beautifully, but it got rainy before we were done.
Great day for Emberizidae, as we had all 9 species on our Marymoor list, highlighted by a tan-stripe WHITE-THROATED SPARROW in the first blackberry bush south of the SW corner of the dog-area parking lot. The other eight sparrows were Spotted Towhee, Savannah Sparrow, Fox Sparrow (abundant), Song Sparrow, Lincoln's Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Golden-crowned Sparrow, and Dark-eyed Junco.
We had great looks at a female American Wigeon - they are not common at Marymoor, and at seven Ring-necked Ducks. We also had a half-dozen Purple Finch, also not common at Marymoor.
At the Rowing Club, we saw two coyote.
And belatedly, at Juanita Bay Wetlands Park yesterday, I had great looks at a Common Snipe and an adult SORA in the mud to the right of the middle boardwalk. There was also a phenominally cooperative Green Heron at the waterfall halfway along the bridge. I got some photos - hope they come out.
