Phil - Brian Bell and I saw a tan-striped White-throated Sparrow at Marymoor on Thursday. On the bird we saw, the stripe above the black eye-line was tan, the stripe below was grey. There was not any noticable yellowing at the front-end of the tan stripe. The white bib, clearly outlined (including bottom edge) with black was very obvious, though it was not brilliant white.

Phil - your bird sounds like a textbook White-throated - a good, but not rare sighting for this time of year.
