Hello Tweeters,
Since this is one of this days where Its better watching you owne yard ,
than driving long hours this to see few birds. Interesting for the first
time i witnessed a Quirl attact a cat chasing it all the way cross the
street and away from my yard. The Quirl was feedind on the dropped
Sunflower seeds what the birds are dropping. There comes the cat, looking up
to the long tubfeeder where few birds was feeding. The Cat was in attack
position, before i try to intervene, the Quirl start attacking the Cat, but
in a real vicious manner. First the Cat fought back, but when the Quirl
din;t let go, the Cat give up try to run of but with the Quirl still in
pursue. The chase ended cross the street, where the Cat disappeeared. The
Quirl came back try to find more food under the feeder.Would this be good
when all the quirls was acting like this?Maybe i wouln'd mind the Quirls so
much, least there dont harm my birds.
PS Again i had Townsent,s Warbler and a Golden-crowned Kinglet in my
Birtbath. Also the Kinglet try to go and feed on the Suet, he (male)
hovered like a Hummingbird, i been seeing this with the Ruby-crowned
Kinglet, but this is the first time with this species. Our yard was full of
birds today, and it was fun watching.
