Tweets,
Went back to Nisqually this morning from 8:00 to about 10:30. Beat the rain
but had a lot of wind. Didn't relocate the WHOTE-THROATED SPARROW, but did
have a great view of a PILEATED WOODPECKER next to the trail to the ring dike
and saw the first NORTHERN SHRIKE of the season in the same cover I saw the
sparrow in yesterday. Lots of NORTHERN HARRIERS around also.
I also spelled GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW 100 times to remind myself that there
is no yellow-crowned sparrow.
It is still pretty quiet on the water fowl front. Today I saw CANADA GEESE
(along with the domestic goose), MALLARDS, GREEN-WINGED TEAL, NORTHERN
SHOVELERS, and a couple of COOT at the ring dike. There was a COMMON MERGANSER
on the river.
Still beats doing house work on cutting the grass.
