Friday, 10/16/98, 1:52 p.m. This is Yvonne Bombardier. Today, Margie
Palmer and I were at Spencer Island. There was an AMERICAN TREE SPARROW
near the barn. It was there with JUNCOS. We also saw FOX SPARROWS, SONG
SPARROWS AND LINCOLN'S SPARROWS. I saw one NORTHERN SHRIKE fly over, a
MERLIN as we were exiting the park, and there were assorted SHARP-SHINS,
COOPER'S HAWKS, 3 NORTHERN HARRIERS, several RED-TAILED HAWKS, and then
the typical birds you would find out on the island. Thank you, goodbye.

Friday, 10/16/98, 1:47 p.m. Hi, this is David Hutchinson. 325.0357.
Phoning on Friday the sixteenth. At Magnusson Park today there was a
WHITE THROATED SPARROW, at the south end in the forest area. At the north
end of the park near the NOAA building there was a BARN SWALLOW, and
inbetween the two there were two NORTHERN SHRIKES.

Thursday, 10/15/98, 11;25 a.m. Tom Aversa, 782.7342, reporting from the
outer coast. Yesterday, on the 14th, the BAR-TAILED GODWIT was still at
the Tokeland Marina. Close to 400 MARBLED GODWITS, some there, some at
the spit near Seventh St. At least 21 CASPIAN TERNS still in the area and
also near the marina were a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW and a YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRD. 14 WILLETS also. Didn't see too much in other areas. Had
over 500 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS at Bottle Beach, with 5 RED KNOTS,
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK at the Game Range at Ocean Shores.
