Hello Tweets:

Having just returned from England and having birded with 2 guides from the
London area, I can tell you that English birders are "not" called Twitchers.
The fellows told me the British press "just don't get it" and, unfortunately,
have perpetuated the notion throughout the U.K. and the world that twitching
is a proper British word for birding.

The folks who enjoy the everyday aspects of seeing birds are called birders,
and they go birding, just like we do. A birder may go twitching from time to
time, meaning s/he is in pursuit of a specific bird or birds during a specific
timeframe. Even while twitching, s/he is a birder who is birding.

Happy Birding, no matter where in the world you may be.
