Dear fellow tweeters: Corrected memo: I will be visiting Portland
Oregon, Seattle Washington and Vancouver BC for one day each the first
week in NOVEMBER (not September) and would like to try to see
Red-breasted Sapsucker (and Western Screech-Owl) during my visit. I will
not have a car so will need to use Tri-Met, King County Metro or BC
Transit to get around. Can anyone please give me directions to someplace
where I have a reasonable chance to find one or both of these birds. I
know about Forest Park in Portland and (maybe) Stanley Park in Vancouver
but these are both huge and some hints as to where within these parks I
might succeed would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Larry
Steingarten

P.S. re: problems in West Seattle - the solution, begging for invention
and deployment is personal torpedoes
