Brian Bell and I did go to Marymoor this morning, but the fog never cleared, and there wasn't much to report. Best birds from Marymoor were 5 or 6 Western Meadowlark and 1 Common Snipe.

So this afternoon, with the fog cleared, I went to Juanita Bay for a beautiful walk. There are plenty of ducks and coots there, with the highlights as follows:

REDHEAD Certainly two males, and I think 1 female as well
CANVASBACK 1 pair
Bufflehead 15 - males and females
Greater Scaup 1 female
Horned Grebe ~5
Western Grebe ~5
Common Snipe 2

The other ducks present were
Mallard MF - perhaps 20
Gadwall MF - 30-40
Ring-necked Duck MF - 75+
Northern Shoveller MF - 10
Green-winged Teal MF - 8
Ruddy Duck MF - 6
Wood Duck Uncertain. Thought I saw one.
American Wigeon MF - 25

One disturbing thing was watching two guys with a City of Kirkland truck remove a beaver dam which had formed a pond under the "new" Market St. bridge.
