Hi Maureen,

I lead a Rainier Audubon field trip to Dumas Bay in
Federal Way and there were two Pied-billed Grebes there. Other
than that it was rather slow. The 1-2,000 Wigeon that are normally
there at this time were largely absent - I think the two Bald
Eagles perched overlooking the bay had something to do with that.
We made a short side-trip to Dash Pt St. Pk. afterwards
and there were 6-700 Wigeon feeding close offshore there. One
highlight there was an immature Franklin's Gull - probably one
of the three reported there on 10/16 by Thais Bock.
