Did a walkthrough with my kids this afternoon at Coulon Park, at the southeast corner of Lake Washington, next to the Boeing plant. Beginning to get some winter waterfowl, although the variety was not great.

The Greater White-fronted Geese are back. I counted eleven. They are fairly tame, and hang around the main swimming area. Among the nearby Canadas were at least two of the very small dark _minima_ race.

In the bay next to the Boeing plant were around 15 Bufflehead and perhaps 20 Western Grebe. More Westerns were scattered along the length of the park. Also scattered were Horned Grebe, with between 5 - 10 present.

The only ducks were Mallard, Gadwall, a pair of Shoveller, and the Bufflehead. Lots of gulls, but I didn't see anything interesting.

There was one male Belted Kingfisher.

For land birds, there were plenty of Yellow-rumped Warbler, mostly Audubon's, at least one very brightly colored Orange-crowned Warbler, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Bushtits, and a female Purple Finch, among others.

Oh - and did I mention Jet Skis. Plenty o'them. I need a case of sound-seeking torpedos...
