This is undoubtedly one of the two European white storks that escaped from a private aviculturist who I believe lives in Renton or Issaquah or somewhere in that general area. They were first seen this summer and were seen for several weeks, though not recently as far as I know.

Last night (Oct.26) had a (third-hand?) report of a strange visitor seen by
perhaps 1/2 dozen people near the parking lot of the Kenworth building in
Renton:

All white bird, 3 feet tall, black wings, straight bill, dull red legs,
feet and bill, plumes on breast, banded above the "knee."

Understand there's a Carousel Park nearby--does it have captive birds? N.B.
to Jim Flynn in Renton: any chance you could take a look and let us know what
it is?
