This is Kas Dumroese with the northern Idaho / eastern Washington /
northeastern Oregon bird hotline.

A single BLUE JAY was still being heard in Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho on
October 18 near East City Park by Charles Swift. East City Park is
along Third Street about 6 blocks east of downtown.

Three GRAY-CROWNED ROSY FINCHES were along my driveway most of Sat,
October 17, 5 miles south of Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho, for my 111 yard
bird. Another was seen on the north side of Moscow along Polk Street
extension on Sunday, October 25.

Three first or second winter MEW GULLS were on the St. Maries, Benewah
Co., Idaho sewage ponds on October 17, according to Carole Vande
Voorde and the Canyon Birders. The sewage ponds are about 1.5 miles
north of St. Maries along Idaho 3. ID DeLorme 60, C-2.

Three AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS and 28 BONAPARTE'S GULLS were at Lyons
Ferry SP in the southeast corner of Franklin Co., Washington today,
October 23, according to Mike and MerryLynn Denny. This park is right
in the corner of Franklin, Whitman, Columbia and Walla Walla counties.

At the Walla Walla River Delta in western Walla Walla Co., Washington
was a single NORTHERN SHRIKE, 4 STILT SANDPIPERS, 23 LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHERS, and 28 DUNLIN on October 23, as reported by the Denny's.
The delta is just north of the jct of US 12 and US 730. Park in the
pullout on the west side of US 12 across from Madame Dorian Park and
take the well worn trail down to the delta. WA DeLorme 40, D-1.

Below Ice Harbor Dam on the Snake River between Walla Walla and
Franklin Co., Washington on October 23 were13 BONAPARTE'S GULLS,
according to Mike and MerryLynn Denny. Take Washington 124 six miles
east from its junction with US 12 to the access road to the dam. WA
DeLorme 40, BC-1.

It appears to be shaping up as a good NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL and BEWICK'S
WREN year around Moscow. If you'd like more information, please give
