Dear Tweeters:

In response to the question about Boreal Owl tapes that had calls on them
(rather than the 'spring song'); I don't know of any for sure. One that
may have those vocalizations is Monty Brigham's huge Birds of Canada tape
set, produced by the National Museum of Canada. As I recall it has a lot
of different saw-whet calls.

And speaking of N. Saw-whet Owl calls, I think that's the 'rabbit scream'
that Michelle reported. Their contact call, common this time of year, is
an often repeated, high pitched wail, almost cat-like.
