We have a man made stream and pond in the backyard and yesterday I saw several
Pine Siskins eating the green algae that was growing on the falls rocks. This
is the first time I have seen them or any bird doing this. Is this normal or
is there something lacking in their diets that is causing them to eat this
unusual (in my opinion) food. There were not just drinking water.
