I've heard the band-tailed pigeons for the past 6 years in the trees several
acres away from our home, but this is the first year that I have ever seen
them. There were apprx. 20 - 30 in the tree's around our home several months
ago, 6 of them even came down to our yard to eat and drink.
The land owners have since cleared their land and are building a house. I
have only seen 2 band-tailed pigeons since the trees were taken. It's quiet
now. I miss their familiar sounds. However, the 2 that remain do come every
evening to drink and sometimes eat.

I spotted our first Gold finch this week in our yard sitting on top of a
feeder. I didn't see another one until I started looking up at the top of the
tall fir and pine trees around 7pm every evening since Sunday. There have been
apprx. 6 -12 in one tree and 4 -6 in another. They are busy eating from the
trees.

We had three Osprey flying very low over our home the other day around and
around as if they were courting, but there were three not two. It was really
interesting to watch, but rather odd.
