September 1, 1998, Tuesday, 10:36 p.m. Hi this is Steven Mlodinow.
Today Kevin Aanerud led a WOS field trip to the Vantage area and nearby
locations. The highlights were BLACKPOLL WARBLERS. There was one at
Wanapum Dam State Park in the trees around the ranger residence
buildings. This is right near the entrance. There was another one at a
difficult to reach location in Franklin County called Wahluke Wildlife
Management Area. Other highlights included a RED-EYED VIREO, a
TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE and several RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES at Wanapum Dam
State Park. That's about it. So good luck and good birding.
