Hi All,
Doing the census route today, I had my socks knocked off --- I saw a Sora!!!
That's one bird that I figured I would never get a glimpse of, hear yes but
actually see, no. I must have looked pretty silly, standing there on a
gravel road, jumping up and down and punching the air. YES!!!

The rest of the data from the route seems pretty tame by comparison. 28
species, including some stragglers: 3 Red-eyed Vireos and 4 Red-winged
Blackbirds. Yellow-rumped Warblers and Golden-crowned Kinglets literally
dripping from the trees. A family of one adult and three immature (still
striped) Pied-billed Grebes were making lots of begging noises.
