On August 25, Phil Bartley found a BLACKPOLL WARBLER on Bateman Island.
The following day, Nancy LaFramboise, Ruth Fischer and I (Bob Woodley)
could not relocate it, however, we again saw the CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER.
On the Yakima Delta, we found 14 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 2 STILT
SANDPIPERS (originally located by Phil Bartley) and 5 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES.

Nancy and Ruth also noted a FRANKLIN'S GULL on the delta and on the
following day (8/27), I added a COMMON TERN to the delta list.

On August 28, Patty Pollari reported the first WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS to
return locally.

Mark Gerber observed 3 GREAT EGRETS and the FRANKLIN'S GULL on the Yakima
Delta on August 30. These birds were also seen by Craig Corder and Judy
Stevens.

Mark also reported 10 CHUKAR near the base of Candy Mountain (West Richland).

On August 31, Randy Hill of Othello found WESTERN, LEAST, PECTORAL,
BAIRD'S, and STILT SANDPIPERS on the saline wetlands along Highway 26, just
west of the Adams county line, and 2 RED-NECKED GREBES on Royal Slough on
the Columbia NWR. Randy also reported an immature SABINE'S GULL on the
lower end of Long Lake just east of the refuge.

Also on August 31, Nancy LaFramboise and I observed am immature
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER and 2 GREAT EGRETS on the Yakima Delta and a LEWIS'
WOODPECKER and COMMON YELLOWTHROAT on Bateman Island. Shortly thereafter,
Nancy and Ruth Fischer found another WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, an adult male,
and I relocated the FRANKLIN'S GULL.

Nancy and Ruth found the LEWIS' WOODPECKER on Bateman Island again on
September 1, plus 3 VAUX'S SWIFTS and a LINCOLN'S SPARROW.

Lastly, today in the Columbia Point area (of Richland), I (BW) found a very
early FOX SPARROW.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
