In answer to Dale Goble's question:
In the fall, especially, there are large numbers of Great Blue Herons that
feed at Crescent Beach which is right on the main highway. I have had more
than one person ask me what the "cranes" are. It really is a beautiful
sight, especially at dusk when the sound is like glass and the tide's out.
