Yesterday morning, during a walk along the Hylebos Mudflats in Tacoma,
saw and adult male and a juv. Purple Martin perched on a piling in the
middle of the mudflats. This is the latest date we've ever noted for a
Purple Martin sighting in Commencement Bay.

Otherwise, a very, very slow morning for birds. Noted 5 American
Widgeon, 1 Belted Kingfisher, 53 Band-tailed Pigeons and 9 Barn
Swallows.
