The impressive migration reported from mid-week on Coxcomb Hill (home of
the Astor Column) appears to be over. The wind shifted from SW to NW.
I spent about 2 hours there on Saturday morning with two mist nets. I
managed to catch 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 1 WILSON'S WARBLER and 2 ROBINS,
but it was generally slow. An AMERICAN PIPIT was in the parking lot
and a WESTERN TANAGER was in the clearing below the road.

A sea fog cut visibility at SJCR to about 100 meters on Sunday. SOOTY
SHEARWATERS could be seen emerging from the fog. A WESTERN GREBE was
making weird noises and several COMMON MURRES were fishing in the surf.
LAPLAND LONGSPURS can still be found in the Salicornia around the
shorebird ponds.
