I've heard that Great Horned Owls can take cats, and my aunt watched
a Golden Eagle take a neighbor's cat off a rooftop one day (although
the eagle is not likely to be hunting at night).
One of my cats, if she could talk, would probably tell you that
magpies can too--after being mobbed by one last year, and not seeing
one in the interim, she ran in terror when one flew by the window
this morning. The other cats of course went crazy trying to get out
the windows and doors for such a grand prize! (No worries, my cats
only go out under supervision, after the birds have all been
alerted). jw
