I was out this morning to the music of about 5,000 sandhill cranes
west of Othello. Many were headed south, but there should be 2,000 or
so that will be here for awhile. Also still a good variety of
shorebirds, 10+ species seen in just a few minutes, including
semipalmated and Baird's still passing through, and still a few
avocets left. I did not find the mockingbird during a very brief
check yesterday, but it could be just about anywhere in town.
