Martin Muller asked for information about wetland
losses in Washington. I think i have just the thing
for Martin and anyone else interested.

The USGS's report "Washington's Wetland Resources," 1996,
is just the thing. You can find an on-line version at
<http://wwwdwatcm.wr.usgs.gov/reports/wetlands>.

By the way, I've seen a Merlin chasing starlings this week
in my north Tacoma neighborhood.
