Ed, Dianne and other Tweeters,

On Saturday, around 12:10, I observed a kettle of 9 turkey vultures flying
low over Interlaken Park in the Capitol Hill district of Seattle. They
were flying very low, maybe only 30-50 feet above the wooded park.
When I first saw them, they were in two groups of 7 and 2 individuals
separated by a few hundred yards; the groups later came together a few
minutes later. One of the individuals was noticeably smaller than the
others and may have been an immature (I was looking up and, in silouette,
could not distinguish a gray head from a dark head). When they
departed, they were heading due east to Lake Washington.

Interestingly, last September, my wife noticed 7 turkey vultures on the
roof of the Stevens School, located less than a block away from this
location. It is possible that this was the same group.
