I have updated my web site again this time to
include still video images taken at a heron
rookery in Yakima county where heron and
cormorants nest in the same trees, often
contesting the same nests. This week begins
sequential coverage of activities which began this
week with a pair of herons copulating and several
pairs of cormorants trying to get in the mood.
New images will be added weekly (more or less) as
nature progresses.
One interesting but limited observation was the
presence of a double-crested cormorant with snow
white crests. Maybe some of you long time birders
have information on the frequency of such birds.
