Hi Nigel,

I have seen many more Red-throated Loons at South King
County parks lately than I normally would. Last Wednesday there
were 13 well offshore from Dumas Bay, Federal Way and today
there were 11. Modest numbers really but many more than the one
or none I normally see in these areas.
Also, unlike the Common Loons which seem to be well
along in their pre-alternate molt the Red-throats seem to be
just beginning the molt.
