This heron and eagle interaction is obviously nothing
new. Both the rookery in Renton and the Peasley Canyon rookery
in Auburn have been abandoned before due to eagle predation
or harrasment. These were more than temporary abandonments,
with semmingly no production at either colony following
abandonment, but both rookeries were repopulated the year after
being abandoned.
