Columbia Estuary Report - 04/11/1999

The TUFTED DUCK was still on Warrenton Sewage Ponds as of this morning.
The AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS reported from yesterday were not there today.

There are still about 1000 small-form CANADA GEESE on Wireless Rd. I
found three with collars.
Yellow C.0Z
H.Z1 (yellow was very faded)
J.7L
I think this makes them Cacklers...

The numbers are still below normal for ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, but there
are a few around. A single COMMON YELLOWTHROAT singing a vaguely
recognizable song was at Seaside Mill Ponds. SAVANNA SPARROWS have arrived,
but are frustrating quiet at Wireless Rd. A single BARN SWALLOW was
near
Seaside High School on Sunday.

A very attractive alternate RED-NECKED GREBE was at Hammond Boat Basin
