Tweeters,

Just getting caught up on last few days' digests. Also saw the single barn
swallow at Kent Ponds late Sunday afternoon, which Sullivans and others
reported, while on a walk with my family. Northern Shrike was still flying
around, near a flock of 8-9 Golden-crowned Sparrows. How often does one get
to see both species at the same time? Marsh and Bewick's wrens out and being
noisy, but not the Savannah Sparrow's others reported (did see a single one
by the side of the path). A Bald Eagle that looked like it was just
finishing its adult plumage, with some brown still on the head.

Saw two Varied Thrushes outside my home in Burien this morning; wondering how
long they will stay around with this warm weather. Junco's are still around.
About a week ago saw a male "Slate-colored" in formal attire as sharp as any
remembered from my Pennsylvania days. Also saw a probable female
Slate-colored the same time; she had just a slight indication of brown
streaking on the back, seen through 10x bins at as close as they could focus,
about 15', not near the amount on usual "Oregon," which reminded me of how we
tried, generally conceded unsuccessfully, to turn Pennsylvania juncos into
"Oregons" with just the slightest amount of brown. Now doing just the
opposite!

Lastly, saw a Tree Sparrow Sunday 4 April near marsh off Snee-Oosh Road on
Fidalgo Island.
