Hello Tweeters,
It been a long time since i birded this area. This used to be my favoured
place to bird, with so many rarity to find.
The winter took a toll on this smal city on the ocean. I noticed already on
Burrow's Road that some debris was pushed real close to the road. The road
between Brown Point Jetty to the Game Range(Sewage Ponds) are closed the
road is completly gone. And some houses have damage.Between the Sewage
Pond and the jetty it looks like a crater where water stands Damon Point
road is also close. You can park you car where the toilets are and the
parking lot.One can walk in there. No one been reporting from Ocean Shores
what i remember .
I will not post all the birds, but my list is 67 species birding Bowerman
Basin and Ocean Shores.
In Boweman there where 25 BONEPARTE"S GULLS mostly all in breeding
plumage.(lot's of Ducks)
On Burrow"s road i had my first SWAINSON"S THRUSH of the season. Bills Spit
produced 125 MARBLED GODWIT, 75 DUNLIN, 3 WESTERN SANDPIPERS and 3
LONG-billed CURLEW.
I was surprised to see so many RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS and many AMERICAN
PIPIT.
Diving home i noticed the OSPREY was sitting on there old nest in
MONTESANO.
