Thursday, April 15, I conducted the monthly census at the Steigerwald
Lake Refuge in Clark County. There were 18 ROSS' GEESE in the flock of
"CACKLING" CANADA GEESE visible from Highway 14, at milepost 18.9. Also
on the Refuge but visible from the walkway on top of the dike along the
Columbia River was a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE,. New birds back at the Refuge
from when I checked several weeks ago were SORA, and BARN SWALLOW.
