Some time ago I mentioned seeing the Ross's/Canada Goose flock in the large
field N of Boeing Tennis. Friday evening about 7:30 I had a few minutes to
kill before playing tennis, so I went over again to take a look. There is
a single Cottonwood tree in the field where one or a pair of Red-tails
often sit, and one was there.. As I scanned the field, I saw a Harrier
hunting, and then two other low flying birds. They were Short-eared Owls,
one of which obliged by sitting on a post not too far away. Not bad for a
ten minute stop.

If you are passing by on West Valley Highway on the way to Kent Ponds, it
is definitely worth a stop. Heading S you would see a large white
communications antenna in the NE corner of the field. Take a right at the
next stoplight, across from an ARCO station and on the N side of the tennis
club. The field stretches from the highway to some buildings on the bank
of the Green River. Don't go on Sat or Sun morning, as the model airplane
folks are out making a lot of noise.
