Today the Swainson's Hawk arrived, two weeks later than normal. Today
the Red-tailed Hawk that has been present all winter was still here.
Every year the Red-tailed Hawk seems to leave within a few days of
when the Swainson's Hawk arrives. We will see if it happens again
this year.
Another interesting observation this morning, each time the Great
Horned Owl would call early this morning our resident Ring-necked
Pheasant would answer. Maybe he wanted to be owl breakfast.
We had 24 species for the yard bird count today.
