Hi Tweets!

I just sighted an OSPRY from out my living room window at 7:00 AM today!
A few moments before I saw it, I heard some bird calls I'd not heard
before (crows, starlings, redwing black birds, gulls) (Russell Road, just
north of Meeker)

At first I thought it was an "ugly gull" untill I noticed it had
something in its talons. Bird of prey. Fortunatly my bird books and
binocs were handy, and the bird of prey landed high atop a light pole in
the nearby ball field.

I zoomed in on the bird in question. Dark greyish-black on top, a black
and white head.....white on top with black and white on the sides,
underside of its wings and breast were white, and its legs appeared to be
wearing white pantaloons. It's wingspan was quite broad and it's
wingbeats were leasurely.

The bird stuck around and chowed down on its breakfast long enough for me
to be sure I had ID'd it correctly.

My other guess was perigrine falcon, but the white pantaloons nailed
"osprey" in my mind. Immature bald eagle also came to mind, but the bill
wasn't nearly as huge as an eagle's.

Did I nail the ID?
