Tweeters; Greetings from Nanaimo....
Marilynne and myself have been out birding on these few nice days of
spring. Today, we were out at Neck Point Park, in Nanaimo, overlooking
the Straights of Gerogia, amoung the birds we saw ...Red-throated Loon,
Pacific Loon, the common Loon. about 80 Brant, 2 Canada Geese, Wigeon,
Harlequin Duck, Surf Scoter's, White Winged Scoters, Bufflehead,
Red-breasted Mergansers, the three Cormorant's Pelagic, Brandts,
Double-crested, two Bald Eagles, Turkey Vulture. Away from the water we
watched eight Townsend's Solitare catching fly's and flying from tree to
tree they entertained us for about 30 minutes. Watched a Merlin looking
for prey, and heard a abundance of Orange-crowned Warblers and as we
left the Park watched two of the warblers as they sang for a time.
