Sightings for Sunday, April 18

A White-tailed Kite was seen today in the Cora Brown subdivision on Sea
Island. The bird spent most of the afternoon at this location and was last
seen at about 6:30 p.m. The Cassin's Auklet was between Canada Place and
the Seabus terminal.

Iona had an American Tree Sparrow on the fence between the inner and outer
ponds, a Clark's Grebe in the outflow channel south of the south jetty, 5
male Yellow-headed Blackbirds on the marsh, a Greater White-fronted Goose
on the Fraser river, 30 Barn Swallows and a Eurasian Wigeon.

A Red-naped Sapsucker was at Cecil Green Park. Also at this location were
a Townsend's Warbler, a Black-throated Grey Warbler and a Townsend's
Solitaire. A Tufted Duck was near the Stone Bridge in Stanley Park and two
Marbled Godwits were on the Tsawwassen Jetty.

An American Tree Sparrow was still at Grant Narrows, Pitt Lake. Minnekada
Park had 2 Ruffed Grouse and 2 Great Horned Owls. Another Great Horned Owl
was at the north end of the Alex Fraser Bridge.

Sightings for Saturday, April 17

Cassin's Auklet was east of Canada Place. A Townsend's Solitaire was in a
yard in the 16400 block of 23rd Avenue. The monthly survey of the Terra
Nova Natural Area in Richmond produced 4 Lincoln's Sparrows, A Peregrine
Falcon, a Barn Swallow, and an American Bittern. Two Grey-crowned Rosy
Finches were in the new parking lot at the third bend in Cypress Park.

A male Eurasian Wigeon was on the pond at Minoru Park in Richmond. QE Park
has a Townsend's Solitaire, a Townsend's Warbler and a Hermit Thrush. Six
Crested Mynahs were at 1st & Wylie in Vancouver and Reifel had an American
Bittern, a Northern Saw-whet Owl and a Great Horned Owl.

Sightings for Friday, April 16

Our two current regulars were in their usual locations: the Cassin's Auklet
was east of Canada Place and the Tufted Duck was near the stone bridge in
Stanley Park. Three Grey-crowned Rosy Finches were at the far end of the
Cypress Bowl Parking lot and another 10 birds, including up to two
grey-capped, were at Lighthouse Park, Point Roberts.

Centennial Beach had a Mountain Bluebird near the tower at the north end of
the beach. Two Peregrine Falcons were on high-rises near Guilford in
Surrey. A singing White-throated Sparrow was at 32nd and Balaclava this
morning.
