Today I took my non-birding nephew to check out the eagles' nest in Seward
park (nobody was home), and then took a brief stroll along the south shore
of the Bailey peninsula. Along with the usual ducks, geese, coots,
cormorants and gulls were two eared grebes and a common loon, all in
breeding plumage.
On Wednesday I watched the scarlet-fronted (?) conures dining on bigleaf
maple flowers.
