Hi Tweets!

While chatting on my phone at my desk by my window with the spectacular
view of the sky to the north, I saw it again feasting on a fish high atop
the ballpark light fixture! (Russell Road Park between W. Meeker and
West James)

The OSPREY had returned, chowing down on a fresh fish supper direct from
the Green River.

Has anybody else had a chance to see this beautiful bird here in Kent?
It's wingspan seems so much wider in proportion to the rest of its body.

Now I've got some OSPREY questions. Is this sighting of an osprey in a
semi urban area unusual? I've been reading many accounts of peregrine
falcons in downtown Tacoma and Seattle, Bald Eagles nesting near
Greenlake and Discovery Park, but what about OSPREYS in town? Is this
osprey sighting worthy of a Rare Bird Alert call?

How common are OSPREY in general? Endangered? Threatened? Populations
growing? Declining?

I guess I'm now enamored by OSPREY when I'm at home and MAGPIES when I'm
in Yakima.
