No spring arrivals noted during a day (and night) at Rainbow Falls SP, on
Route 6 in Lewis County, on April 15-16. Winter wrens nesting, pileated and
hairy woodpeckers making noise, plenty of juncos, golden-crowned kinglets,
varied thrushes, and robins. A single Hutton's vireo singing. Kingfisher
heard, not seen, over the Chehalis River. Barred Owl at dusk.
