I have continued to see brandts, pintais, nd buffleheads at lower oad
bay in Hadlock, and the three crabs RE Sequim, and Mystery Bay on
Marrowstone Is. Also shovelors.

4-16 Oak bay - Ruddy ducks, winter plumage
4-18 Crocker lake...about 1:20 p 20 lesser scaups, 50+coots - the
number of coots has increased!! this past winter in the first time coots
have been at Crocker Lake. the umbers have doubled...are close to
triple..what they were in the winter.. There was 1 canada goose - of the
smaller variety. - appeared to paired upwith an african goose. it was
smaler than the african goose. (African geese are domestic) 4-18 6:20p
Lower Oak bay park, Hadlock....100+ Brandts, cormarants, buffleheads,
pintails, an eagle flew overhead. 2 GB herons,100+ dunlin, many with
breeding plumage, common loon, 6 greater scaups.

On marrowstone is, 4-18, at mile post 7m - a pair of kingfishers,
sitting on the wire at the end of the bay. Female had a fish.

0n 4-12, at the Oyster House, Sequim, there were lots of green wiged
teals. a couple wre close enough to see the speculum - all of it, on
male and female ducks. There were about 200 Brandts. Approximately one
third of them looked like they could be eastern brandts., with the white
sofar forward. I did take some pictures. of the Brandts. When
devepoled, if they show the lighter bellies, I will tke them to a
friends house and post them for the rest of hyou to see what you think
re: western or eastern brandts.

Also have an UGLY GULL, with bright red-orange beak............it sure
put me to wondering just what kind of bird it was, until I went back
later. it was still there and still had the red-orange beak... Yes, it
was a gull..
Any ideas fromany of you???
