Hello Tweeters,

This coming May and June, I will be conducting nest searches for
White-headed Woodpeckers in eastern Washington. If anyone comes across any
birds, or even better, a nest site, please let me know about it. I want to
do vegetation measurements around the nest location in order to
characterize the habitat preferences of the species.

As many of you probably know, White-headed Woodpeckers are uncommon and
very local in Washington. It will be a challenge to find enough sites to
form a good sample size. I will personally buy a double-tall latte
for anyone can locate a nest! Any assistance will be most welcomed.

I would also be interested in any nest site that were used within the past
4 years.

Thanks in advance,

Russell Rogers
