Michael,
If you are looking at the swift Ultralites might I suggest that you also
look at the Swift Trylite, 10x42. Its roof prism, focuses to about 9 feet,
gives a pretty good image and are relatively cheap, I got mine two years
ago for 180.00. Granted they are not in the same league as the high end
binocs but for the price, defiently worth the money if you are not able to
spend 600+. I you are able to go up to about the 400.00-450.00 range I
have been very impressed looking at the Celestron Ranger, its extremely
close focusing, very clear, I believe Nitrogen purged waterproof and it
would probably be my choice if I could afford to upgrade my binocs, but
could not afford to go into the top of the line range.
