Hi All -
We were near Lake Sammamish State Park watching several HERRING GULLS
working a thermal. The next thing I noticed was a COOPERS HAWK joining in
and rising effortlessly with hardly a wing beat. I'm sure she didn't have
any aspirations on the gulls so I think she was just enjoying the free
ride, and the love of flight. This was the first Accipiter I've seen using
a thermal.
