I'm not certain about the gulls, however I am reasonbly certain about the
accipiter, and based on the size I would put my money on a female COOPER'S
HAWK. The down stream migration of salmon smolt from the Issaquah Hatchery
is in progress right now and there are gulls all over the lake. The day we
saw the COOPER'S HAWK there were two male COMMON MERGANSERS in Issaquah
Creek stuffing themselves on smolt.
