The Swainson's Hawk is back, and the Red-tailed Hawk is gone. A few
days ago the last of the Dark-eyed Juncos left and the White-crowned
Sparrow are here at the feeder. We saw our first American Goldfinch
Thursday. The first Barn Swallow showed up today. Perhaps Spring is
really here.
Today the Osprey took a large fish (12-15 inches) from the river
at the edge of our yard. It said on a pasture post and ate it. We
hope it wasn't one of the endangered salmon, someone may get upset.
